Nunavut’s health insurance for Canadian citizens and permanent residents is called the Nunavut Health Care Plan (NHCP).

To apply, you must fill out a form for a Health Care Card:

You must:

1. Print the application included in the link and

2. Provide TWO clear copies of identification (permanent resident card or other valid immigration documents AND a secondary identification document such as a previous healthcare card, employment ID, or valid drivers license).

3. You must also include proof of residency in Nunavut, such as a letter from an employer, a job contract, etc.

You can then email these documents along with the completed application to nhip@gov.nu.ca.
